ActivylandAdvantage are effective spot-on flea treatments available for both dogs and cats. So how do they work?
Topical treatments for fleas work in a different way to tablets or chewables. Instead of being absorbed into the pet’s bloodstream, they remain on the skin. Fleas are killed on contact, so they don’t need to bite your pet before being eliminated.
Activyl and Advantage both control flea infestations by providing month-long protection against adult fleas, killing them before they can lay eggs. Activyl provides an extra layer of protection by killing flea egg and flea larva.
Treatment with Advantage also helps to control infestations of lice (Trichodectescanis, Linognathussetosus) on dogs.
Both Activyl and Advantage can be used on dogs and cats as young as 8 weeks of age, with the exact product required based on your pet’s body weight. Activyl is not suitable for use on pregnant or nursing animals.
